Betsson, a gaming company, and the Greek professional basketball team AEK Basketball Club have revealed an enhanced collaboration, making Betsson the team’s title sponsor. This deal expands Betsson’s prior position as a significant sponsor and coincides with the company’s 60th year in the gaming sector.
The team will now be called AEK Betsson Basketball Club. The collaboration was formally introduced at an Athens event on October 12th, where both groups commemorated their shared past, including a combined €100,000 contribution to aid earthquake recovery efforts in Turkey.
The President of AEK Betsson BC, Makis Angelopoulos, conveyed his excitement about the partnership, noting that both entities are dedicated to utilizing their strengths for ongoing triumph. He also recognized Betsson’s continuous backing, attributing their positive connection as a factor in the team’s accomplishments.
This collaboration aligns with Betsson’s wider expansion plan, which recently encompassed entering the French market through partnerships with local businesses. Furthermore, Betsson has reinforced its collaboration with Pragmatic Play to improve its live casino offerings.
Betsson announced positive financial outcomes for the second quarter of 2023, with revenue rising by 27% to €2.368 billion.
Betsson experienced variations in active users throughout the initial six months of 2023, yet the firm still generated a substantial 29% increase in income compared to the corresponding timeframe the previous year.
